There is something very beautiful—and also very human—about the relationship between Princess Leonor and her sister, Infanta Sofía. Although they are both going through very different stages, it’s clear they miss each other more than they can say in public.
Leonor is in her final year of military training at the San Javier Air Academy, while Sofia has just begun her university studies in Lisbon, studying Political Science and International Relations. Two different paths, yet united by that invisible bond shared only by siblings who truly admire each other.

On Hispanic Heritage Day, we saw the two of them very close, sharing laughter and confidences, as if they wanted to make the most of every second together.
It was a special day, especially because it was Sofia’s first time attending a reception at the Royal Palace. Leonor remained by her side, and many interpreted this as a sign of protection and affection.

“They try to talk for about half an hour whenever their schedules allow,” a journalist said after speaking with the princess, making it clear that although they can’t talk every day, they manage to stay connected.
And that detail sums up much of their bond: no matter the distance or their obligations, they always find a moment to reconnect, even if it’s just by phone.

They will soon meet again in Oviedo for the Princess of Asturias Awards, an event that holds great symbolic significance for them.
It will be another opportunity to share not only the institutional stage, but also those gestures that speak without words. And yes, we will likely see Leonor and Sofía together again, smiling and in complicity, during a joint visit to Pueblo Ejemplar.
