This October 12, Princess Leonor was once again the center of attention at the celebration of Spain’s National Day.
This event was marked by the traditional military parade in Madrid and a reception at the Royal Palace, the heir to the throne participated for the second consecutive year, accompanied by her parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
This year the occasion was even more emotional for Leonor, as it was ten years since her first appearance at this important celebration, when, along with her sister Sofia, she made her debut at the event in 2014.
The princess has undergone a remarkable transformation since that first time, consolidating herself as a symbol of continuity for the Spanish monarchy.

The arrival of the King and Queen and their daughter at Neptuno Square took place at eleven o’clock in the morning (Spanish time), where they took their place in the Royal Tribune.
The rain, unexpected but intense, made its appearance, which forced adjustments to the program, such as the cancellation of the air show. However, the weather did not overshadow the solemnity of the moment.
Queen Letizia, always impeccable, opted for a camel trench coat combined with red heels and a matching handbag. At her side, King Felipe VI, dressed in his military uniform, watched the event, while Leonor stood to the right of her father, closely following protocol.
Following the military tradition that already marked last year, the princess again chose to wear a uniform instead of an elegant outfit.
If in 2023 she wore the uniform of the Air Force, on this occasion, Leonor, who is currently studying at the Naval School of Marin, chose the uniform of the Navy.
This outfit consisted of a navy blue jacket with gold buttons, matching pants and a white and blue female cap. In addition, to complete the look, she gathered her hair in a low bun, in compliance with military protocol.
The princess also wore the sash of the Order of Charles III, which she received when she turned 18, and the prestigious Golden Fleece, a decoration that has been part of her life since she was a child.
One of the most symbolic moments of the event was when Leonor, together with her father, performed the military salute and sang in honor of the fallen while a wreath was laid.
Her firmness in every gesture and her closeness with her father did not go unnoticed, leaving images that will be added to the visual history of the Spanish monarchy.

After the military parade, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, together with Princess Leonor went to the throne room of the Royal Palace for the reception and kissing ceremony, which was attended by more than 1,300 guests for the Spanish Independence Day events on October 12.
For the moment of the greeting of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia with Princess Leonor, the latter removed the hat that accompanied her navy blue navy dress uniform.
The participation of the princess in the National Day of Spain, reinforces her role as future queen, in a year in which her military training has been one of the main focuses.
