Princess Leonor de Borbón is about to begin a new chapter in her military training as the future head of the Armed Forces.
After successfully completing her training at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza, she is now preparing to enter the Naval Military Academy of Marín, in Pontevedra, where she will spend the next four months as a First Midshipman.
This stage will culminate with an embarkation on the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano in January, thus ending her training in the Navy.
Princess Leonor’s Naval Academy Uniforms
On her first day, the Princess of Asturias will arrive at the naval center dressed in the Navy’s B-mode uniform, known for its elegance and characteristic pristine white with buttoned jacket.
After reporting to the Alumni Barracks, she will change into her working uniform, modality C, which consists of a white short-sleeved shirt and long white pants.
During this process, she will be accompanied by Captain Pedro Cardona Suanzes, director of the Naval Academy.
The routine at the Naval Military Academy will not be easy, but Leonor seems ready for the challenge.
The day begins at 6:45 a.m., when she must get up, make her bed and put on her uniform before heading to the dining hall for breakfast, a period that extends from 7:00 to 7:30.
At 9:00, classes begin with 45-minute sessions where the future queen will learn about naval culture, navigation and, of course, maintain a demanding physical routine through sports and workouts that are a fundamental part of military training.
Although she will have a demanding schedule, as a third-year student, Princess Leonor will enjoy certain benefits, such as flexibility in her schedule and the possibility of leaving the academy to go for walks with her classmates. In addition, she will have the freedom to choose with whom she wishes to sit in the dining room, a small luxury within the rigid military discipline.
As for her lodging, Leonor will share a room with three of her classmates.
As for her attire, she will not need to wear much personal clothing, as she is expected to wear regulation uniforms both inside and outside the Academy.
In fact, the dress code is quite strict, even in underwear, where students are required to wear 14 plain white panties and 6 bras of the same color. In addition, you will need to have several types of uniforms: Midshipman’s uniform, field uniform, inífuga clothing, blue fatigues, as well as safety and field boots. She will also need discreet sports shoes, black flip-flops for the shower, and toiletry and sewing kits.
Leonor’s influence
Leonor’s presence in the media continues to grow, and with it, interest in military training among young women.
According to recent data, female incorporation in the Army has increased by 2% this year, reaching 35.65% of the applications, surpassing even those of men in corps such as Military Health.
