Princess Leonor of Spain has officially started her new stage in the Naval School of Marin.
Shortly before seven o’clock this Thursday evening, the Princess of Asturias arrived alone, walking with decision and determination, marking the beginning of her military career in Galicia.
This time without her parents by her side, Leonor impressed with the white uniform of a midshipman of the Spanish Navy, a look with which the public had not seen her until now.
Princess Leonor Begins Naval Training
The media gathered at the gates of the Naval Academy, eager to see the future queen on her arrival at what will be her new home for the next few months.
Here she will undergo her initial training until January, when she will embark on the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano for an instruction voyage.
Princess Leonor’s uniform was the summer version of the Navy’s everyday attire.
According to the official government bulletin, the outfit consisted of a female white cap, a white sailor-style jacket with stiff shoulder pads and several embroidered insignia, including the Order of Charles III and the Cross of Military Merit.
She received these distinctions last June after completing her period at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza, where they were presented to her by her father, King Felipe VI.
Completing her uniform, Leonor wore a long-sleeved white shirt with soft collar, white belt and pants, her choice as opposed to the skirt option that is also available for cadets.
She completed the look with white lace-up shoes and matching white socks.
Unlike her previous arrival at the General Military Academy in Zaragoza, where her parents and her sister, Infanta Sofia, were by her side to see her off, Leonor’s entry into the Naval Academy has been solo.
Now that she is beginning her third year of training, with the rank of Midshipman -equivalent to Ensign-, Leonor continues to assume her role within the Spanish Armed Forces, taking the next step with confidence and commitment.
