The Wax Museum of Madrid has welcomed a new figure that promises to capture the attention of visitors.
As we had already advanced here in RoyalFamily.News, it is a renewed wax figure of Princess Leonor, presented this February 14.
Princess Leonor’s New Wax Figure
While the heiress to the Spanish throne is in Brazilian waters, her wax replica is already part of the museum’s collection, located in the Plaza de Colón.
The incorporation of this new figure represents a necessary update. The previous version of Leonor, created in 2014, reflected a childlike image of the princess, corresponding to the time when her father, King Felipe VI, assumed the throne.
Now, almost a decade later, the institution has decided to represent an adult Leonor, choosing for it a key moment in her life: the day she swore the Constitution on her 18th birthday.
For the occasion, the figure has been dressed in an elegant white suit, consisting of a double-breasted blazer and skinny pants, in clear reference to the outfit that the princess wore on October 31, 2023.
The realism of the sculpture extends to the accessories: she wears nude heels, similar to those she wore on the historic day, and sports the insignia of the Golden Fleece, which hangs on her chest with a slightly larger size than the original.
In addition, the hair has been gathered in a ponytail, a detail that mimics the hairstyle that the princess chose for that day. As a differentiating touch, the figure exhibits a small piercing in the left ear, a detail that Leonor did not wear during the ceremony but that she has shown in other public events.
Located in a room next to the figures of her parents, the image of the princess is presented accompanied by King Felipe VI, represented with a gray suit and green tie, and Queen Letizia, with a navy blue dress inspired by a Carolina Herrera design, nude heels and a matching clutch.
As is often the case with wax figures, the presentation has generated mixed opinions.
While some feel that the replica has faithfully captured the image of the princess, others believe that the likeness is not quite accurate.
Be that as it may, the new statue of Leonor is now a reality and is ready to welcome visitors to the museum.
