The beginning of 2025 has brought with it a new institutional appointment for the Spanish royal family, with Princess Leonor starring in her first public appearance of the year.
This January 6, the heir to the throne accompanied her parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, in the traditional celebration of the Military Easter.
Until a couple of years ago, this ceremony took place without the presence of their daughters, but since Leonor began her military training, it has become an unavoidable date in her agenda.

As usual in events of this nature, the Princess of Asturias wore her dress uniform, showing an impeccable image next to her father, King Felipe, who also wore his military dress as Head of the Armed Forces.
Queen Letizia, for her part, opted for an elegant outfit in keeping with the solemn nature of the event.
Beyond the attire, what really caught the attention was Leonor’s attitude during the ceremony.
Despite some slight initial confusion, she showed poise and seriousness, qualities that show her evolution as a future queen.
The nervous gestures typical of her 19 years did not overshadow the interest and involvement she maintained at all times, attentively following every detail of the protocol and watching her father with special attention.
Throughout the ceremony, mother and daughter had several moments of complicity, exchanging glances and brief comments.
However, this appearance not only marks the beginning of the year for the princess, but also Leonor’s last act in Madrid before embarking on the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano.
The heir to the throne will return to the naval academy on January 8 to prepare for the six-month voyage, and her parents will travel to Cadiz on the 11th to bid her farewell.
The training cruise will take her to different countries. The Royal House has announced that this trip will allow the princess “to experience life at sea first hand and to familiarize herself with naval traditions”.
