King Felipe confirms Leonor’s next step in her preparation to become Queen of Spain

For the second consecutive year, Princess Leonor was not present at the Hispanic Day celebrated last October 12. Her academic commitments at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales prevented her from attending, but that will not be a limitation for her participation next year.

Princess Eleanor will complete the second year of her high school education in Wales in June 2023 and then decide which university to attend. By the time October 12, 2023 arrives, an important role awaits Leonor, and it will not be at her father’s side in the presidential box.

Princess Leonor of Spain will receive military training

Next year, the heiress will also turn 18 and her military duties will begin. As part of her preparation to assume the crown, Leonor will receive military training at the Air and Space academy in Murcia, Land in Zaragoza and the Navy in Pontevedra. So it is likely that the Princess of Asturias will be seen parading with the rest of the military components.

His father, King Felipe, was the one who revealed this possibility and ‘El Programa de AR’ confirmed that the king made these statements during an informal conversation at the Royal Palace reception held for Hispanic Day.

“If she’s already getting her military training at that point and her unit parades, she will parade, too,” he stated.
