Princess Leonor de Borbón has proven to be an exceptional young woman, ready to assume her role as the future monarch of Spain.
It is no secret that Leonor has been raised to be prepared for the challenges of being the heir to the throne.
Her recent coming of age and military training have marked a turning point in her path to the throne.
Princess Leonor of Spain’s personality
In August 2023, Princess Leonor of Spain arrived nervously but with great enthusiasm to begin her training at the Military Academy of Zaragoza.
Two months later she came of age and the same day she was to take the oath to the constitution, an event that marked the beginning as heiress.
“I owe myself to all Spaniards, whom I will serve at all times with respect and loyalty. There is no greater pride (…) I ask you to place your trust in me, as I have placed all my trust in the future of our nation,” he said during his historic speech on the day of the swearing-in of the Constitution.
Throughout these eight months, Leonor has faced hard and intense military training where she has excelled as a lady cadet.
The daughter of the King and Queen of Spain has earned good comments from her superiors who have made it clear that she has been treated as just another person and that she has not received any kind of privileges.
The revelations of the former head of the Spanish Royal Household
The recent revelations of the former Head of the Royal Household, Alberto Aza, agree very well with the positive comments of Leonor’s superiors at the Military Academy.
Aza, told Spain’s ABC newspaper, that Leonor has proven to be a “bombshell” and “very crack” since her childhood.
The former Head of the King’s Household worked at the Zarzuela between 2002 and 2011, so he saw the princess of Asturias grow up and take her first steps in a public way.
Aza praised the “temperament and discipline” of the Princess, qualities that for him are essential to face the challenges that will be presented to her in the future as Queen.
She also highlighted her experience at UWC Atlantic College in Wales, where she “passed the interview as a candidate and aced it” thanks to her brilliance.
It should be noted that the test to enter the UWC is anonymous, no one knows who is behind a pseudonym.
She also praised the Kings, whom she described as “talented” in the education of their daughters.
“They should write a manual,” he joked, acknowledging the “phenomenal” job the kings have done in raising Leonor and Sofia.
The heir to the throne is only two months away from saying goodbye to Zaragoza.
Princess Leonor’s military calendar
According to the official calendar of the academy, the final exams will be held from May 11 to 24.
After completing the exams, all students will face a final two-week period of Instruction and Training that will end on June 7.
Finally, on June 19, the closing ceremony will be held, which is expected to be attended by King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain.
Leonor will then start a short summer vacation where we will see her in Palma de Mallorca before resuming her military training but now at the Military School of Marín (Pontevedra).
