Together with her fellow first-year cadets, the young heiress to the throne has just successfully completed the basic combatant training module, receiving the distinctive beret grancé over the weekend.

During two arduous weeks at the San Gregorio camp, the lady cadet Borbón y Ortiz was put to the test with a wide range of physical and mental activities.
Among them, marches, topographical tours, rifle and simulated pistol shooting practice, live fire exercises with various individual and collective weapons, and combat track practice, all under day and night conditions.
The Training and Doctrine Command, in charge of directing the training of the young recruits, published on social media photos of the cadets with their new berets after completing the intense program.

The heiress to the throne and her companions have already gone through the Reception, Orientation and Adaptation to Military Life Phase, and now completed the Basic Military Training Module, which focuses on physical and military skills.
Recently, Leonor was known to have been practicing with the HK G-36 rifle, a regulation weapon of the Spanish Army, as a first step in her adaptation to the weapons.
During these first significant weeks, the princess has not been able to communicate with her parents, the king and queen, as rules state that cadets do not receive calls from family members, except in emergencies.
At 17 years old, the heir to the throne is showing mettle and determination as she embarks on this challenging journey to become a military officer.
