If Mohammed does not go to the mountain, the mountain goes to Mohammed, that seems to have been the motto that Princess Leonor, 17, has used to return to Spain on a secret trip of which details are now known.
The Spanish heiress is studying in Wales in her second year of high school at the UWC Atlantic College. However, aware of such an important date as King Felipe’s 55th birthday, Leonor made a short but significant trip to share with her dad.
Princess Leonor travels to Spain for her father’s birthday
The future queen of Spain arrived in the Iberian country not to miss, for any reason, the king’s birthday party.
According to several Spanish websites, Princess Leonor arrived in Spain on January 27th to be with her father. The monarch’s surprise was great, as he was unaware of his eldest daughter’s plans.
The website Vanitatis reports that the head of state brought forward his birthday and blew out the candles at La Zarzuela in the company of his two daughters, Leonor and Sofia, Queen Letizia and other members of the royal family. The gathering was also attended by his mother-in-law, Paloma Rocasolano, who came with her partner, Robert Gavin.
