The Princess of Asturias is about to embark on a new experience that will mark an important milestone in her military training.

This Saturday, January 11, Leonor de Borbón will set sail from the Port of Cádiz aboard the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano, where she will spend the next six months with 75 other young midshipmen.

During this expedition, which will cover some 20,000 kilometers through countries such as Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and New York, the heiress will have the opportunity to sail through the Strait of Magellan and explore the Pacific Ocean.

Aware of the physical challenges involved in this mission, the princess has already begun to prepare herself in the first maneuvers carried out on the vessel.

In these practices, the firstborn of King Felipe and Queen Letizia could be seen performing one of the most demanding exercises: pole climbing.

This training, which consists of ascending the bow mast and descending the other end, is a key test of dexterity and endurance.

At RoyalFamily.news, we will focus on two accessories that gave her sporty style comfort and functionality, completely in keeping with the occasion.

The outfit worn by Princess Leonor included a regulation military tracksuit, complemented by Joma Hispalis XIX sneakers, footwear that since 2021 has been part of the official equipment of the Spanish armed forces.

This model, also used by the UK Ministry of Defense, is characterized by its light weight – it weighs just 370 grams -, an upper made of textile mesh, rubber and leather to ensure breathability, and a non-slip rubber sole, ideal for any type of surface.

“The technologies employed ensure both comfort and safety,” the manufacturer notes on its website.

Another novelty in her styling was the smartwatch she wore during the maneuvers.

It is the Garmin Instinct 2 Solar, a watch valued at 350 dollars that stands out for its robust design and advanced functionality.

This device is designed for extreme activities, as it has a solar charging system that offers virtually unlimited autonomy, in addition to being water resistant to a depth of 100 meters.

The watch includes functions such as monitoring recovery after each training session, sending the location in real time and detecting incidents, features that make it a perfect ally for this new stage of the princess.
