One of the most important events for the heir to the Spanish throne, Leonor de Borbón, begins.
Although July 10 will be the main day, when King Felipe and Queen Letizia, Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia preside over the Princess of Girona 2024 Awards ceremony, the royal family’s agenda begins today.
Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia in Barcelona
The heiress to the throne and her sister are the first act alone on the occasion of these awards and they do so by visiting the workshop of the renowned sculptor Jaume Plensa in Barcelona.
Located in Sant Feliú de Llobregat, the sisters are discovering firsthand the work done there and the creative and industrial process that Plensa carries out, all with the artist as an exceptional guide.
This visit is part of the activities that the daughters of King Felipe and Queen Letizia are carrying out in Catalonia together with the Princess of Girona Foundation.
In 2022, the place chosen was the Dalí Museum in Figueras, and last year it was Ferran Adrià’s ellBulliFoundation in Roses.
Princess Leonor’s style in Barcelona
For the occasion, each of the King and Queen’s daughters maintained their own personality and style with their outfits.
The Infanta Sofia, with a boho outfit and Princess Leonor, with a ‘total white’ look, have captured the attention of the media present not only for their obvious gestures of complicity, but also for their chosen outfits.
Looking at the attire of the heiress to the throne, white was the color chosen for her clothes, and as the only contrast, the natural tone of her espadrilles.
Her outfit consisted of two pieces: a shirt and jeans, which although they did not form a set as such, combined perfectly due to the same shade of pure white.
As a top, the Princess of Asturias has premiered an original white shirt by Roberto Verino. A basic in any closet, Leonor de Borbón’s new shirt borrows the classic pattern of men’s shirts, but gives it a twist thanks to the fabric with which it has been made.
It is a very light and fluid poplin material with a discreet checkered print in maxi size in the same white color. Imperceptible at first glance, it is when you look at the details of the garment that you can appreciate the original design that stands out on the shirt.
With lapels on the collar, front button closure, regular hem with ruffled finish and sleeves gathered by loops, the pattern of the new white shirt has helped to highlight the heiress to the throne.
Following the same chromatic palette, the firstborn of the King and Queen wore white jeans. With a high waist, straight legs and wide hem with frayed stitching, they also have a side slit that shows the shoes.
To match her sister, Infanta Sofia, Princess Leonor has opted for a pair of espadrilles from her closet, a pair of Macarena Shoes.
The first time the heiress wore this pair was in the summer of 2021 along with a floral mini-dress. Today, three years later, both have bet on them.
They are the Saura model of the aforementioned Spanish firm, one of Queen Letizia’s favorites, espadrilles made of beige linen with a 3-centimeter sole and wedge, all made of natural jute.
They have a round toe and close with the traditional lacing at the ankles. Basic and timeless, they are priced at 70 dollars at the exchange rate.
Showing a discreet and modern style, as jewelry, Leonor has only added some hoop earrings with gold finish to complete the look she wore to visit Jaume Plensa’s workshop.
