Princess Leonor has marked a new milestone in her life by making her first official solo trip. The destination, Portugal, was not chosen at random.
As a neighboring country, Portugal shares close historical and emotional ties with Spain, strengthened by the warm relationship between the King and Queen of Spain and the Portuguese president, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
After a flight of approximately one hour, the princess landed at Lisbon’s Figo Maduro military airport, where she was received by both Spanish and Portuguese authorities.
Leonor’s schedule in Portugal began with a formal reception and several significant events.
Princess Leonor’s Style in Portugal
Dressed with elegance, the princess chose an outfit by Carolina Herrera composed of a double-breasted, tailored crepe blazer with peak lapel and double-breasted with six tone-on-tone buttons.
The blazer, which costs $860, has an elegant and modern design, ideal for the occasion.
She completed her look with a matching pair of high-waisted, flared-leg pants, priced at $425.
To contrast with the vibrant red of the suit, Leonor wore a basic white top, an essential garment in any closet.
As for accessories, the princess opted for earrings from Gold & Roses, one of Queen Letizia’s favorite jewelry stores.
The earrings, called Needle I Am, are made of rose gold, diamonds and rubies, and are part of the I AM RED collection.
Queen Letizia wore them for the first time at a meeting of the Cervantes Institute in October 2022.
For footwear, Leonor chose moderate-heeled pumps from PINKCHIC guagua, a pointed-toe salon-style design with a 5.5 cm heel and an ankle bracelet.
These shoes, in a nude shade of soft nappa leather, she had previously worn them with another red suit but by Roberto Verino.
Leonor’s first official trip was brief but full of meaning.
In addition to her meeting with President Rebelo de Sousa, she attended an event dedicated to the oceans and met with young Spanish residents in Portugal at the Spanish embassy.
During her speech at the luncheon in her honor, Leonor recalled the special relationship that her parents, the King and Queen of Spain, have with Portugal.
“Ten years ago, this beloved country was my parents’ first destination as King and Queen of Spain. I cannot deny how special it is also for me to be here today,” she said with emotion.
This trip not only reaffirms the close relationship between Spain and Portugal, but also marks the beginning of Princess Leonor’s international career as a future queen.
