Princess Leonor is experiencing one of the most demanding summers of her public life.
At 19, the heir to the Spanish throne is advancing in her military training while juggling a busy institutional schedule that highlights her growing prominence.
Princess Leonor’s summer schedule
After her visit to Gijón aboard the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano, Leonor is preparing for the last few stops before completing her cycle in the Navy.
Ferrol will be the ship’s next stop from July 9 to 12, with training activities specific to the naval corps.
Then, on July 14, the Princess will travel to Santiago de Compostela to receive the Gold Medal of Galicia, an honor she will share with other award winners, although in a ceremony brought forward for scheduling reasons.
That same day, in Marín, she will receive the title of Adoptive Daughter of the town, a symbolic gesture that links her to the community.
The following days will be marked by closing ceremonies at the Naval Academy and the presentation of Royal Dispatches, a ceremony of special importance for the military institution.
Afterwards, the Princess will travel to Catalonia to preside over the Princess of Girona Awards with her family and make a local visit with her sister Sofia.
In August, the family will gather in Mallorca for their traditional vacation, before Leonor resumes her training, this time at the Air Force Academy in San Javier.
