Princess Leonor of Spain secretly traveled to her country last weekend. The daughter of King Felipe, 55, and Queen Letizia, 50, “escaped” from the UWC Atlantic College in Wales and in Madrid she had a very special meeting.
Princess Leonor’s trip to Spain
Although the Royal Household has not wanted to give statements on the reasons that have led Leonor de Borbón to make this trip, it has been made public her visit to her former school, Santa María de los Rosales, a center where her sister, Infanta Sofía, still studies. The 17-year-old heiress wanted to take advantage of her fleeting trip to Madrid to greet her former classmates, as published by the website Vanitatis.
However, this visit did not go as planned because the princess could not share with all her classmates, since she arrived when the class had been divided and not all students were in the same place.
The Princess of Asturias has very good friends among her classmates at the Santa María de los Rosales school. Some of them have even been to the Zarzuela Palace.
This is not the first time that Princess Leonor travels to her country as a surprise, last January she traveled to be with King Felipe on his birthday. Days before she had also traveled to Madrid for a “dental emergency”.
For some time now, the eldest daughter of the King and Queen of Spain has been treated by a dentist, a close friend of Queen Letizia, to fix her teeth with orthodontics.
