Princess Leonor Nears Christmas Break, Prepares for Naval Training Cruise
Princess Leonor is on the cusp of her Christmas holiday. Unlike her younger sister, Infanta Sofia, the heir to the Spanish throne will complete her naval training just before the festive season, in the third week of December.
According to the official academic calendar, the Naval Academy will break for Christmas on December 21st, with students permitted to leave from noon on the 20th.
What will Princess Leonor’s Christmas vacations be like?
Following a brief holiday, Princess Leonor will resume her military training on January 8th. Prior to this, she will participate in Military Week on the 6th, a significant event in her official schedule.
This year marks a special milestone for Princess Leonor as, upon her return to routine, she will embark on a training cruise aboard the Juan Sebastián de Elcano.
The ship is scheduled to set sail on January 11th, with her parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, expected to bid her farewell before her adventure.
The princess’s voyage is anticipated to last approximately six months, during which she will visit various parts of the world.
Meanwhile, Infanta Sofia will enjoy a slightly earlier start to her holiday. Classes at Atlantic College conclude on December 11th, although she is required to return on January 6th. Consequently, she will be unable to join Leonor and their parents for Military Week.
Unless unforeseen circumstances arise, she will also be unable to attend Leonor’s farewell. However, there remains a possibility that she may travel to Spain to be with her sister as she sets sail on this exciting endeavor, mirroring the journey undertaken by their father, King Felipe, as part of his training to become king.
