Princess Leonor, during her vacation in Mallorca, caught everyone’s attention when she was seen for the first time behind the wheel of a car.
The firstborn of King Felipe and Queen Letizia became the center of the media spotlight, generating a wave of comments on social media.
The Spanish media quickly spread the images, highlighting this unexpected debut of Leonor driving.
Despite the general enthusiasm, some pointed out a possible traffic infraction committed by the princess, thus setting a precedent in her driving record before the public.
Princess Leonor’s Infraction
The royal family’s recent outing in Mallorca, during their summer vacation, was the perfect occasion to see Princess Leonor driving.
Specifically, she was at the wheel of a gray Seat Ateca, greeting citizens by rolling down the car windows.
Accompanied by her sister, Infanta Sofia, in the passenger seat and with Queens Letizia and Sofia in the back, the image of Leonor driving quickly became the photo of the summer.
This public appearance as a driver comes after it became known that the heir to the throne had passed her driving test months ago.
However, one detail did not go unnoticed: the absence of the letter ‘L’ for novice drivers on the back of the vehicle, a requirement under Spanish traffic law for new drivers.
This omission represents an infraction that could carry a fine in excess of $100. So far, the Royal Household has not commented on this incident, which marks Princess Leonor’s first traffic infraction.
