Princess Leonor began a rigorous physical preparation before entering the Military Academy of Zaragoza. The future queen will join the Army on August 17, 2023.
Leonor, 17 years old, will follow in the footsteps of her father, King Felipe, and will spend three years in different army components.
She will first start in the Army, where she will be for one year, then in the Navy, and finally in the Air Force.
After completing her training, she will obtain the rank of lieutenant in the Infantry and Air Force, as well as the rank of ensign in the Navy.
Leonor’s military training
As the date of the princess’s entrance to the Military Academy approaches, more details are becoming known about the physical preparation that the heiress must have.
According to the established requirements, Leonor is expected to be in the excellent physical condition and be able to complete a continuous run of at least 45 minutes three times a week and perform 100 push-ups a day, so reveals the Spanish press.
The daughter of King Felipe has done her part to reach this physical condition and will follow a tough training plan in the coming weeks with expert professional trainers.
As heir to the Spanish throne, the princess will focus on her military training over the next three years, as she will eventually assume the role of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces when she becomes head of state.
Leonor also has a busy few days ahead of her, as she is in the process of getting her driver’s license, something that is likely to happen when she turns 18 on October 31.
For the time being, the princess is keeping busy with her personal goals and it is unknown when her next royal event will be.
