Princess Leonor is continuing her military training in the mountains a few days before Christmas. This was reported by the Spanish media, which have been closely following the training of the young heir to the throne.
On the other hand, her mother, Queen Letizia, and the Infanta Sofia have already begun their Christmas vacation.
The Queen ended her official engagements and moved to the Zarzuela Palace, where she will spend the holidays with King Felipe VI. There she received Sofia, who returned from the UWC Atlantic College in Wales, where she has been studying since September.
However, Leonor has not had an easy time, as the princess has had to face a week of exams that correspond to the first stage of her career at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza.
Princess Leonor’s military mountain training in Candanchú
The future Queen of Spain, 18 years old, traveled with her classmates from the academy to Candanchú, a town in the Aragonese Pyrenees, according to the local press.
It is home to the Military School of High Mountain and Special Operations, a reference center for the Spanish Armed Forces.
For three days, Leonor will receive specific instruction in subjects such as snow and avalanches, rescue and self-rescue techniques, maintenance and repair of equipment, mountain medicine and explosives.
The Princess will also practice skiing on the slopes of the Winter Center, which opened this weekend for the start of the season.
After the military training, the cadets, including Leonor, will have the opportunity to visit some of the tourist attractions in the area. They will then return to Zaragoza to enjoy their Christmas vacation, which will last from December 21 to January 8.
This is not the first time that Leonor has visited these slopes, as in 2017 she traveled there with her sister Sofia to ski during some special activities of her school.
