Meghan Markle has once again shared an intimate moment of her family life, surprising her followers with an endearing image of her daughter Lilibet in the company of a very special guest.
Through her Instagram stories, the Duchess of Sussex showed the little girl enjoying an afternoon of games with tennis player Serena Williams, one of her closest friends.

Under the message “When the aunties comes to celebrate … and to play! Love you @serenawilliams,” Meghan showed her daughter immersed in a board game with the legendary athlete.
True to her style, the Duchess made sure to protect Lilibet’s privacy, so in the images she can only be seen with her back turned and in a slightly out-of-focus shot.
However, this did not prevent the details of the scene from capturing the attention of her followers.
Meghan’s affectionate gesture towards Serena has been interpreted as a hint to the distant relationship she maintains with the British royal family and the use of the term “aunt” to refer to the tennis player has generated comments about the lack of closeness between Lilibet and her official “aunt”, the Princess of Wales.
The friendship between Meghan and Serena is solid and has been maintained over the years. Their relationship began in 2010 and was consolidated in 2014, to the point that the tennis player was present at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2018.
In Meghan and Harry’s household, Serena is considered part of the family, and her children, Archie and Lilibet, affectionately call her “auntie.”
Princess Lilibet’s style
One of the details that did not go unnoticed in the images was Lilibet’s outfit.
The little girl wore a comfortable outfit composed of a pink long-sleeved T-shirt with a big red heart in the center and the phrase “You fill my heart”. The garment belongs to a past collection of the Spanish firm Zara, which confirms that affordable fashion also has a place in the closet of the mini royals.
The pants, also in pink tones and with a floral print, are from the brand The Children’s Place.
As soon as the images surfaced, Meghan’s followers rushed to find the garments, causing the pants to sell out quickly on the brand’s online store.
This phenomenon, known as “the Lilibet effect,” is reminiscent of what happens with the fashion choices of other royal figures, such as Princess Kate, Princess Eleanor or Queen Letizia.
Along with this emotional scene, Meghan also took the opportunity to make a discreet reference to her next big project: the series With Love, Meghan, which will premiere on Netflix on March 4.
