Queen Camilla has returned to her official duties and, in doing so, provided an update on the health of King Charles.
It should be recalled that the 75-year-old monarch was diagnosed with cancer last February. Although the type of cancer he is suffering from has not been specified, it has been indicated that he is receiving treatment to overcome the disease.
During a recent visit to a cancer center, the Queen briefly mentioned her husband’s condition, seven months after his diagnosis was made public.
What did Queen Camilla say about King Charles’ health?
In particular, the Queen opened the new state-of-the-art Dyson Cancer Center at the Royal United Hospital in Bath, England.
During her stop at the Macmillan Wellbeing Hub, Macmillan Partnership’s Suzy Moon quizzed the Queen on how King Charles was doing.
In response to concerns about the monarch’s health, Queen Camilla took a moment to address the issue during her tour. “He is doing very well,” Queen Camilla said, according to the Mirror.
In addition, the Queen may have made reference to her husband elsewhere during the visit. Camilla had a conversation with Paul Holdway, who is currently receiving stem cell treatment for blood cancer.
According to the Mirror, the Queen asked Holdway how he was feeling, to which he replied, “I am feeling very tired.” To this, the Queen cheekily responded, “Men won’t admit it.”
King Charles resumed his royal duties shortly after announcing his illness and has maintained his active schedule despite his treatment.
The King’s most recent engagement was on August 31, when he attended the 200th Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show in Aberdeen, Scotland.
The monarch is also preparing for a major trip this fall, which will include visits to Australia and Samoa. This will be his first tour to Commonwealth countries during his reign.
