amilla Parker impressed as hostess at the first state dinner hosted by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace for South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and his wife, First Lady Tshepo Motsepe.
The Queen consort brought out her elegance by opting for an outfit that impressed many royal experts and provoked nostalgia in others by wearing a beautiful tiara that belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Which tiara did Queen Camilla wear at the state banquet?
First of all, one has to mention her wardrobe. The consort opted for a majestic long blue dress with lace and transparencies on the sleeves.
As expected, for her first state dinner since she became queen, she wanted to make a gesture to her mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, and chose to wear the sapphire tiara that the late monarch ordered to complete the set of jewelry with that precious stone she already had.
The jewelry had particular significance to Queen Elizabeth as it was a wedding gift from her father King George. The pieces were a bracelet, teardrop-shaped earrings and a necklace made up of 18 stunning sapphires. The first owner of the necklace was Princess Louise Marie of Belgium.
Camilla imposed her personal style and instead of wearing the whole set of jewelry she decided to combine the tiara with a blue diamond necklace, earrings and matching bracelet.
