Queen Camilla took part in a moving ceremony on June 5 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
The event, which took place in Portsmouth, was attended by royals including King Charles and Prince William, who gathered with veterans to honor the sacrifices made during the significant military operation that turned the tide of World War II.
It was an opportunity for members of the royal family to interact with those who served, and emotional moments were shared that moved both the queen and the king to tears.
Despite the solemnity of the event, Queen Camilla’s attire captured attention, particularly for her choice of color, which is notable given that traditionally royal women prefer to wear black on such occasions.
Queen Camilla’s D-Day outfit
At the solemn commemorative event, Queen Camilla opted for an elegant pale pink wrap dress, complemented by a matching hat, highlighting her presence with classic distinction.
The dress, a creation of designer Fiona Clare, was characterized by its sophisticated simplicity and was accompanied by a Philip Treacy hat, which harmonized perfectly with the ensemble.
To complete her outfit, the queen selected shoes by Eliot Zed, specifically the model ‘Ella’ Pumps in Textured Sand, which added a contemporary touch to her outfit.
The queen’s choice did not go unnoticed on social networks, where numerous users expressed their admiration for the successful look of King Charles’ consort, leaving a multitude of positive comments.
- “What a lovely colour on her. She should wear more of this shade”.
- “The Queen looks lovely”
- “That hat is spectacular!!! And that colour of pink is perfect”.
- “Gorgeous Camilla”
- “The hat is fab (well it’s by Phillip Treacy so no surprise there!) and the colour is gorgeous on her.”
- “She looked incredible. It must have been a joy to wear this outfit for such a special occasion.”
- “Queen Camilla looks SO good! Great outfit choice beautiful hat!”
- “Camilla looks pretty in the pink color she has on!”
Despite the initial surprise of some royal followers, this outfit is not a novelty; in fact, it was the same outfit that the queen had chosen for her arrival to the state visit in France in September 2023, alongside King Charles.
This week, the royal agenda includes a trip to France for Charles and Camilla.
On Thursday, June 6, King Charles, Queen Camilla and Prince William are expected to meet in Normandy to continue commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
This visit takes on special significance as it marks Charles III’s first trip abroad following the announcement of his cancer diagnosis.
