It seems that the story of Queen Camilla’s health problems has not yet come to an end.
Although the 77-year-old consort managed to return to her royal duties after missing Remembrance Day events, it is now clear that her health is not as strong as we might have thought.
The wife of King Charles has been forced to pull out of the Royal Variety Performance tonight due to health concerns stemming from a recent chest infection that persists.
Queen Camilla’s health problems
The Royal Variety Performance is not only a great festive occasion before the holidays, but also supports the performing arts in Britain and raises funds for the Royal Variety Charity, which helps those who have worked in the entertainment industry.
Doctors have suggested to the Queen that she skip the event, as such a long evening might be too demanding for her current condition.
According to a Buckingham Palace spokesperson: “Following a recent chest infection, The Queen continues to experience some lingering post-viral symptoms, as a result of which doctors have advised that, after a busy week of engagements, Her Majesty should prioritize sufficient rest. With great regret, she has therefore withdrawn from attending tonight’s Royal Variety Performance. His Majesty will attend as planned.”
Despite the situation, palace sources have indicated that there is no cause for alarm. Queen Camilla has plans to travel to Sandringham, the couple’s Norfolk home, a trip that was already scheduled for this weekend.
Meanwhile, King Charles will attend the event tonight, but the Queen will stay in London before making her way to Sandringham.
Undoubtedly, the Queen’s well-being is the most important thing, and everyone hopes that she will recover soon.
