News that Meghan Markle might not like: Queen Camilla will co-host a literary podcast called “The Reading Room”.
The podcast is a project of her eponymous charity, which aims to inspire a love of reading in adults and children in the UK and around the world.
In The Queen’s Reading Room, Queen Camilla will share her passion for books with authors, actors and actresses who will reveal their favorite works and those that have influenced them, according to The Daily Mail.
When Queen Camilla’s podcast will premiere
The first episode, which will premiere on January 8, 2024, will feature author Ian Rankin, actress Dame Joanna Lumley, comedian David Baddiel and renowned American novelist Ann Patchett.
The eight-episode podcast will be available on all platforms, including Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Vicki Perrin, Managing Director of The Queen’s Reading Room and the presenter alongside Camilla, has expressed her enthusiasm for the project, which she hopes will have a huge impact on literature lovers.
Queen Camilla is an avid reader who has launched several initiatives to promote the habit of reading. Her podcast could eclipse Meghan Markle’s ‘Archetypes’, which was not as successful as expected.
After relinquishing their duties as members of the royal family, Meghan and Prince Harry landed one of the most lucrative deals with Spotify, worth between $20 million and $25 million.
The deal, signed at the end of 2020, was for an indefinite period. However, the collaboration ended abruptly after two and a half years and only one completed project.
