Queen Camilla has taken the unusual step of being spotted shopping at a luxury department store.
According to reports from GB News, fans of the royal family were delighted to see the Queen browsing the elegant aisles of Fortnum & Mason, a well-known British retailer, in search of Christmas gifts.
Queen Camilla’s Shopping
During her visit, Camilla was seen perusing a variety of festive teas and decided to take home a delicious black tea with cinnamon and orange, which cost approximately $17.
She spent quite a while selecting from the colorful tins of tea while, all around her, other shoppers continued to be immersed in their own holiday shopping.
Witnesses to the scene reported that the wife of King Charles was accompanied by about four security officers.
What was curious was that one customer was able to approach the same table as the Queen without any interference, despite the fact that she was well protected.
A store worker shared: “It was funny because I’d never have thought I’d be within touching distance of the Queen. There must have been just over a metre between us.”
This visit is part of a long tradition of royal shopping at Fortnum & Mason, which holds a royal warrant. It is known that Queen Elizabeth II also made similar visits to this iconic store, although they were usually arranged months in advance.
Queen Camilla’s departure comes just weeks after she was absent from several official engagements due to health problems.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that she had suffered a chest infection. However, judging by her recent shopping, she appears to be fully recovered and ready to enjoy the upcoming Christmas at Sandringham.
