An official notice published in the London Gazette gives an account of Queen Elizabeth’s decision to recognize the producer.
“The Queen has ordered that the appointment of Harvey Weinstein as Honorary Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated January 29, 2004, be canceled and annulled.” It said part of the publication.
Weinstein, 68, has been serving a 23-year prison sentence in New York since February 24. The producer appealed the court’s decision and hopes to reduce the time he has to spend in jail.
