Queen Elizabeth could further reduce her official role following a further blow to her health. The monarch was forced at the last minute not to attend the central Remembrance Day event because of a sprained back.
Everything was prepared for Queen Elizabeth II to reappear at an official act in person. Buckingham Palace had already confirmed the 95-year-old monarch’s presence at the ceremony at the Cenotaph monument in central London where she would see everything from the balcony, as she has done for several years.
It emerged that Elizabeth II was “deeply disappointed” at having to make the last minute decision not to lead the act honoring those killed in the war. They stressed that there was no connection to his recent hospitalization.

The ceremony was attended by the Prince of Wales who laid a wreath. Also in attendance were the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, princess royal and vice-admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra.
The Queen has missed several events, when she was forced to cancel a visit to Northern Ireland at the last minute three weeks ago after doctors ordered her to rest. It was later learned that he had been in the hospital overnight for “preliminary examinations”.
