The crisis in the Spanish royal family continues with the revelations of Spanish businessman Jaime del Burgo and his alleged relationship with Queen Letizia.
Del Burgo, who was married to Queen Letizia’s sister for two years, posted a selfie of the Queen on his X account (formerly Twitter) with an alleged love note written by her, detailing their alleged extramarital affair.
Queen Letizia’s affair
The 53-year-old businessman once again used his X account to address the controversy surrounding the Spanish royal family and confirm his alleged affair with Queen Letizia.
“I’m not changing a comma of my deleted posts. I appreciate the messages from those who understood that I had my reasons. I have no grudge against those who threatened to kill me. I don’t feel proud. But the truth is as it is. I recognize only one king in heaven, and his name is Jesus of Nazareth. He will judge me,” he wrote.
The alleged lover of Queen Letizia is hitting back after he deleted his posts and the Spanish press questioned the veracity of his statements.
Del Burgo also spoke about his alleged affair with the Queen in an interview for the book “Letizia y yo” by journalist Jaime Peñafiel.
He describes the four stages he believes his relationship with Letizia went through: from 2002 to 2004 they had a romantic relationship, from 2004 to 2010 they were friends and confidants, from 2010 to 2011 there was a long-lasting and continuous love affair, and from 2012 to 2016 they acted as brothers-in-law.
Silence in the Royal House of Spain
So far, the royal house has not commented, and the kings maintain the usual schedule of commitments.
On December 9, King Felipe will travel to Argentina for the inauguration of President Javier Milei.
While Letizia has a few days “off” due to holidays in Spain that coincide with the return of the Infanta Sofia to her country to spend the Christmas holidays.
