Queen Letizia of Spain will return to Paris to represent the monarchy at one of the most significant sporting events of the year: the Paralympic Games.

The Queen’s commitment to sport and her dedication to the athletes were evident during the recently held Olympic Games in Paris, where she showed great enthusiasm for each victory and demonstrated a genuine interest in the lives and experiences of the competitors.

Queen Letizia’s presence at the Paralympic Games promises to be equally motivating, as she will have the opportunity to cheer on athletes in a variety of disciplines, including athletics, basketball, triathlon, table tennis, cycling, canoeing, rowing, judo, tennis, taekwondo, shooting, fencing, weightlifting, and archery, according to Spanish media reports.

The Spanish delegation of Paralympic athletes will compete in 16 of the 22 sports included in the program, hoping to increase its medal tally and add new medals to those already won at the Olympic Games.

This event not only highlights the dedication of the athletes but also underscores the inclusive approach to sport at the international level.

Although Princesses Leonor and Sofia are not scheduled to be present due to their academic obligations, Queen Letizia will be there to lend her support and celebrate the athletes’ achievements.

Princess Leonor will begin her training in the Navy on August 29, just one day after the start of the Paralympic Games, while Infanta Sofia will begin her second year at UWC Atlantic College in Wales.

Queen Letizia’s presence at the Paralympic Games not only reinforces her commitment to sport but also symbolizes the unconditional support of the royal family for Spanish athletes in their pursuit of sporting excellence.
