Queen Letizia made a notable appearance at the Queen’s Cup soccer final on Saturday, May 18th.
After five years, she returned to this event, delighting the players of Barça and Real Sociedad who were competing at La Romareda Stadium in Zaragoza.
Queen Letizia at the Queen’s Cup Final
The last time Queen Letizia attended the Queen’s Cup was in 2019 when Real Sociedad won.
Her absence over the next three years was understandable due to the pandemic.
However, her continued absence in the following two years, even after things returned to normal, raised questions.
It wasn’t until the Women’s World Cup final in Australia that Queen Letizia showed her support for women’s sports again.
At the stadium, hundreds of people gathered, hoping to see Queen Letizia. She arrived smiling and greeted everyone warmly.
There was a chance that Princess Leonor, who is currently studying at the General Military Academy in Zaragoza, might accompany her, but Leonor is in the middle of exams. So, the Queen attended the event alone.
Due to a broken toe, Queen Letizia wore white sneakers.
She paired them with white pants and a tweed jacket with brown and green check patterns.
The jacket had two pockets, three-quarter sleeves, and large beige buttons.
After posing for the press, Queen Letizia took her seat in the stands.
Throughout the match, she watched attentively, ready to present the winning team with the coveted Queen’s Cup.
