Queen Letizia brought her impeccable sense of royal style to her daughter Princess Leonor’s historic Constitution swearing-in ceremony at the Congress of Deputies this October 31, 2023.
The Queen consort shone in a blue midi dress by Carolina Herrera that she wore before for a state visit to Germany last year. On this occasion, she added a symbolic tribute to her daughter through delicate jeweled details.

Letizia’s Carolina Herrera dress originally debuted on the New York runway in 2013 and is a short-sleeved dress, with a teardrop neckline, armed shoulder pads, and a waist marked with a sash and midi length.
The fabric stands out for its “teal” blue hue that perfectly complements Letizia’s complexion. The most regal elements are the floral appliqués, with two flowers adorning the left shoulder and a third on the right.
During her stay in Germany, Letizia wore the dress without accessories for a clean and sophisticated look. However, for Leonor’s 18th birthday and swearing-in, the Queen added personal touches through her jewelry.
She wore diamond and aquamarine earrings by Bulgari that were given to her on the occasion of Leonor’s birth, without the large aquamarine drops she usually adds.
The earrings have a symbolic meaning, serving as a tribute to the Princess of Asturias on her monumental day. Letizia also wore her iconic Coreterno ring.
Her hair was tied back in a low bun and her makeup was elegant and natural.
Letizia completed the look with her handbag with handle matching the color of the dress, signed by Magrit. As for the shoes, she opted for new nude-colored low-heeled pumps.
The recycled Carolina Herrera dress was the perfect choice for Letizia to honor her daughter and radiate the elegance of the Spanish monarchy in a historic moment for the future queen.
