The latest episode of a popular TV show in Spain, called, ‘La Revuelta’ left everyone surprised when an audience attendee, named Piedad, shared an unexpected story related to Queen Letizia.
It all started when the host, named David Broncano, paused the program after a comment from an audience member who revealed that among the audience was a former classmate of Queen Letizia.
It was then when the woman confessed that she had been Letizia Ortiz’s classmate for five years at university, while they were both studying journalism.
What was Queen Letizia like when she was young?
Piedad showed a photograph of her university class, in which she appeared next to the now Queen of Spain.
Broncano, incredulous but amused, exclaimed, “This program is one exclusive after another!” as the audience reacted with laughter.
Piedad, in a humorous tone, told that her parents had kept the photo in the kitchen, but after Letizia’s wedding to King Felipe VI, they decided to hang it in the living room of the house, which provoked general laughter.
Broncano, always ready to bring out more information, invited Piedad to talk about Letizia’s personality in her student days.
“She was very smart, beautiful and applied,” Piedad recalled, provoking smiles in the studio. But most striking was her comment that Letizia at that time used to say that she “would never get married” and that “she was very leftist,” something that made both the presenter and the audience laugh.
The talk did not end there. Piedad went on to share more details about her university life with Letizia, revealing that on occasions they used to go out drinking together, albeit with little money, which led them to opt for beer and calimocho, a kind of cocktail of red wine and carbonated cola.
Once, as he recalled with laughter, they got drunk watching a meeting of José María Aznar during the Popular Party campaign, something that caused laughter among the audience.
Before saying goodbye, Broncano asked Piedad to send a direct message to Queen Letizia.
“Letizia, I’m glad that the five years of journalism at least helped me to appear in La Revuelta. I am an actress and comedian by soul, but I studied Journalism at the public university. A kiss, Leti con zeta”, she said looking at the camera, unleashing the sympathy of the audience and Broncano himself.
The presenter, with his usual touch of humor, concluded the segment saying: “I imagine now the queen watching the program with this face”, while showing an image of Letizia with a serious expression on the screen.
And to close the topic, Broncano did not miss the opportunity to invite the queen to participate in the program whenever she wanted.
