Queen Letizia returned to her official engagements after the New Year’s military parade and she did it in style.
In her first solo appearance of the year, she surprised with a working outfit where the real protagonist was her jacket, a premiere with a very special meaning.
It is a red tweed jacket made by women victims of trafficking in the textile workshop of the Association for the Prevention, Reintegration, and Care of Prostituted Women (APRAMP), with which the queen has been collaborating for years in the fight against this terrible social problem.
Queen Letizia’s red tweed jacket
With this jacket, the Queen of Spain wanted to send a powerful message of support for the work of APRAMP and its commitment to the prevention, reintegration, and care of prostituted women.
This is not the first time she has used designs from the association’s workshop for her official events, demonstrating that she uses her wardrobe as a loudspeaker for causes in which she firmly believes.
The jacket, in red tweed, is made by the survivors themselves, who are in the process of full recovery.
A garment loaded with symbolism to open the year. The queen combined it with black culotte pants, also a premiere, which revealed her new Dance Black flat dancers from the sustainable firm Adeba.
She completed the look with her oversized Carolina Herrera coat, which she wore upon arrival to protect herself from the cold.
As accessories, the mother of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia wore Gold and Roses triple hoop earrings and her beautiful Coreterno ring.
In short, a discreet but very significant look where the focus was put on that red jacket, a symbol of the involvement of Queen Letizia in making visible stories that must be heard.
And what better way to start 2024 than by launching a message of hope for so many women who lived trapped in the nets of trafficking.
