Queen Letizia keeps facing foot troubles.
In addition to metatarsalgia and Morton’s neuroma, she now has an injury in the proximal phalanx of her right central toe.
Queen Letizia’s foot injury
The Spanish consort underwent therapeutic syndactyly, which involves joining two toes, the affected one along with the adjacent healthy one, to aid recovery through immobilization.
She’s been advised to apply ice and wear comfortable shoes, hence her appearance at the Royal Theater in sneakers.
Clearly in pain, Queen Letizia arrived at the Royal Theater and told reporters, “Bad luck, but this will heal. I didn’t know what was wrong until they did the X-ray.”
The injury happened days ago in a home accident, hitting a table. She attended an event in Zaragoza last Saturday with strong pains in her right foot.
Medical advice includes icing and rest, although Queen Letizia intends to stick to her scheduled activities.
But she’ll have to do so wearing different footwear than usual, even for official or gala events, for possibly weeks until the fractured phalanx heals.
Returning to her agenda, despite her discomfort, Queen Letizia chaired the ‘EmociónArte’ concert at the Royal Theater in Madrid.
It’s an event promoting emotional well-being education among youth, part of the Princess of Girona International Award 2024 ceremony in the categories of Entrepreneurship and Research, which the King will preside over the next day.

For the event, Queen Letizia wore a tweed jacket from Mango. It’s a straight model in fuchsia with lapel collar, double-breasted closure, and frayed hem.
A design from a previous collection, once priced at US$ 70.
She paired the jacket with basic white pants and MU The Brand sneakers, a brand founded by two industrial engineers, leading the world of Spanish-branded sports shoes.
The Queen wore the MU0 model, very versatile and unisex, with a grayish-blue back and beige tongue, all made from 100% sustainable and Spanish leather.
No surprises in her jewelry choice, as Queen Letizia opted for white gold button earrings with diamonds from which she usually hangs her Australian pearls, though not this time. And, of course, her Coreterno ring.
As mentioned, the Queen doesn’t intend to cancel her agenda due to this injury.
On Tuesday, she’ll be seen at the ‘El Barco de Vapor’ and ‘Gran Angular’ awards ceremony. Additionally, on Wednesday, she’ll preside over the main event with the King celebrating the bicentennial of the National Police.
