Queen Letizia wears a new tweed dress and comfortable shoes at the Cervantes Award Ceremony

The awarding of the prestigious Cervantes Prize is one of the most prominent events in the calendar of the King and Queen of Spain.

This year, the “Miguel de Cervantes” Prize for Literature in the Spanish Language 2023 went to Spanish writer Luis Mateo Diez.

“One of the great storytellers of the Castilian language, heir to the Cervantes spirit, writer in the face of all adversity, creator of imaginary worlds and territories,” praised the King in his speech.

For royalty lovers, all eyes were on Queen Letizia’s choice of style.

From the tweed dress to the pearl accessories, every detail was carefully selected to project an impeccable image befitting the occasion.

It was at the University of Alcalá de Henares, where the Cervantes Award ceremony was held, that Queen Letizia made a triumphant entrance.

The Spanish consort attended in a tweed dress in shades of gray, and soft shades of blue and purple.

The midi design, with French sleeves and a closed neckline, featured frayed details at the waist and cuffs, which gave it a modern and casual touch.

Although the dress does not belong to any of the Queen’s usual firms, its pattern, and the characteristic frayed details suggest that it could be an exclusive design by the Royal Household’s seamstress.

This choice demonstrates Letizia’s refined taste and her ability to incorporate unique pieces into her closet.

Accessories played a key role in the look.

The Queen opted for a black Hugo Boss handbag that she has had since 2015, accentuating her styling.

As for footwear, she chose Massimo Dutti slingback heels with a low heel, a smart choice because of her metatarsalgia and Morton’s neuroma in her left foot.

But without a doubt, the jewel that stood out the most was a pair of Australian pearl earrings with diamonds that Letizia has had since the birth of Princess Leonor.

These detachable earrings allow her to wear them in a versatile way, and on this occasion she wore them completely, adding a touch of sophistication to her ensemble.

As usual, the Queen did not part with her Coreterno ring, a piece that has become a hallmark of her style.

With this look, Queen Letizia once again demonstrated her ability to combine pieces, creating an elegant and modern look that captivated everyone present at the prestigious Cervantes Award ceremony.
