The Queen of Spain has not been able to win the affection of some of the employees of the royal house. He is an imposing and controversial character and on more than one occasion he has been in the news for things that happen inside and outside the Palacio de la Zarzuela. A secret revealed by the former counselor of the king’s house, Alfonso Ceballos-Escalera, left more than one speechless. Apparently, many of the employees could not stand Letizia when she was the Princess of Asturias. The character of the wife of the King of Spain prevailed from the beginning, making it clear that she did not like the rigidity of the royal protocols, a fact that has bothered the most conservative sector. For many, it came to change the image of the monarchical institution.
It is said that in Zarzuela internal surveys are made among employees to assess the reputation of the members of the Royal House. In one of those consultations Queen Letizia would have come out as the worst valued.
The vote contrasts sharply with the opinion of the same employees who have branded the queen as “meticulous” and who does not make big mistakes. Perhaps because of her perfectionist character, some see her as distant or cold and do not sympathize with her.
It is also speculated that Letizia insisted a lot on the abdication of Juan Carlos I so that her husband would take the monarchical responsibilities.
There is no doubt since Queen Letizia of Spain said “Yes, I want” on May 22, 2004, all eyes are on her and although she continues to comply with royal protocol she remains true to her style, standing out as one of the most elegant queens in the world.
