For her latest royal engagement, Queen Letizia of Spain wore a new pair of earrings with an exciting story behind them.
The monarch, mother of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, was in Madrid to attend the Retina Eco Awards, which recognize innovative projects that have an impact on sustainability issues.
For this event, the wife of King Felipe chose a completely new outfit, consisting of a very flattering, inexpensive dress from one of her favorite brands: Zara.
The Queen debuted the midi-cut dress in a striking turquoise color, with a straight silhouette and a gathered neckline that highlighted her toned arms.
She completed her look with a slim belt and high-heeled pumps by Italian brand Aquazzura.
Queen Letizia’s emerald earrings
Beyond her outfit, however, it was her new earrings that attracted the most attention.
In addition to her inseparable Coreterno ring, Queen Letizia accessorized her look with spectacular new Tous emerald cascade earrings.
These earrings have a special meaning. They were a gift for the Queen, who celebrated her 51st birthday on September 15th.
Spanish jeweler Pablo Milstein confirmed that this is an exclusive set made by the Catalan company, which is also a birthday gift.
These earrings can be worn in different ways, giving them great versatility, something the Queen likes to do.
They can be worn as Letizia wore them, but you can also choose to wear an emerald as a solitaire or just one of the cascading falls instead of both.
Undoubtedly, this jewel has all the characteristics to become one of the favorite pieces of the wife of Felipe VI, who usually prefers versatile and discreet jewelry.
