King Felipe and Queen Letizia have been married for 19 years, during which time they have welcomed two daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, and undergone significant changes.
Despite having one of the most stable relationships among European royals, little is known about their private lives inside the palace.
Recently, the curious nickname King Felipe uses to refer to Queen Letizia in private was revealed.
Queen Letizia’s nickname
According to the French press, the monarch refers to his wife as “Mama”.
This unexpected nickname demonstrates the trust and affection that the King and Queen have for each other when they are not fulfilling their institutional role.
Although the origin of the nickname is unknown, it provides a glimpse into the royals’ more intimate and private life.
On the other hand, the German press has attributed to Queen Letizia another nickname related to her gray hair.
The German magazine “Bunte” recently analyzed Queen Letizia’s appearance, focusing on her hair.
The magazine noted that Letizia showed off her gray hair without hiding it, which caught the attention of the German media and led to her being described as “the ice queen.”
Apparently, the white lock of hair reminded German journalists of Princess Anna from the iconic Disney movie “Frozen,” in which the young girl sports a white lock due to Elsa’s powers.
