Queen Letizia’s niece, Carla Vigo, has spoken out about the infidelity scandal involving King Felipe’s wife.
Last December 4, Jaime del Burgo, ex-brother-in-law of Queen Letizia, sparked the controversy by publishing on his X account that he had an affair with her while she was married to the King.
After the revelations, he decided to delete the publications and remain silent for several days.
Now he has resumed his publications on X, asserting that he and the Queen did have a relationship.
Queen Letizia’s niece speaks of infidelity
To date, the Royal House has not commented on the matter, and Felipe and Letizia continue with their schedule of engagements unchanged.
However, Carla Vigo, the Queen’s niece, has decided to speak out about the controversy that has engulfed her family.
In a podcast by a Spanish youtuber, Carla broke the silence maintained by other members of the royal family and spoke about the statements made by Jaime del Burgo, the ex-husband of her aunt Telma.
The young woman claimed that Burgo was only seeking attention and described him as unhinged.
“Thought this man wasn’t in his right mind. I believe he wanted to cause harm or draw attention,” said Carla.
Nevertheless, Letizia’s niece admitted that Burgo had a good relationship with the Queen, but that she did not know how close he was.
Carla, who is 23 years old, is the only member of the Ortiz family to have spoken out on the matter so far.
The royal family has generally preferred to remain silent about the allegations and is expected to continue with its normal schedule while the press continues to speculate about the situation.
