Just a few hours after Queen Letizia’s participation in the closing event of an aid program sponsored by a Spanish bank, held this Tuesday, June 11, 2024, it was learned that the Queen of Spain will have to undergo surgery.

The health condition of the Queen, mother of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, has been deteriorating for several weeks.

Despite efforts to improve, the situation has worsened, leading her doctors to recommend surgery as the best option.

Recent reports in the Spanish press reveal that Queen Letizia has confided in presenter Belén Esteban about the need to undergo surgery on her foot.

During a chance encounter, Belén related, “We greeted each other with a couple of kisses and when I asked her about her foot, she confessed to me that it required surgery.”

This revelation comes after weeks of observing the Queen with gestures of pain, which indicated that her health condition could be serious.

Concern was heightened by the fact that the Queen was still wearing sports shoes two months after announcing the fracture of a phalanx in her right foot.

This injury, which would normally resolve in a few weeks with immobilization of the affected toe, appears to have become more complicated.

Despite these setbacks, the Royal Household has not confirmed the date of the operation, and Queen Letizia has maintained her schedule of official engagements, demonstrating her commitment and resilience.

Even with this injury, the Queen recently made a trip to Guatemala, her first cooperation mission of the year, possibly aggravating her condition.

This act of dedication reflects the Queen’s spirit of service, although it has raised concerns about her long-term well-being.

The lack of official confirmation about the surgery and the continuity of her official activities have kept the public and the media in expectation about her health and future appearances.
