Queen Letizia of Spain, despite her recent toe injury, has once again shown her commitment to social causes.
This Tuesday, she attended the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day event.
Although the fracture of the proximal phalanx of the middle toe of her right foot has caused concern among her supporters, the monarch has not let it stop her from attending public events.
For the occasion, Her Majesty chose an elegant pink tweed ensemble with white culotte trousers and a matching jacket by Mango, complemented by flat shoes, a prudent choice given her known foot conditions: metatarsalgia and Morton’s neuroma.
She recently underwent a therapeutic syndactyly, a procedure in which the injured toe is immobilized next to the healthy one to facilitate recovery.

However, during this Tuesday’s event, cameras captured a moment of discomfort when the Queen stepped down from the lectern after her speech and placed her hand on her right thigh, demonstrating the pain caused by a stumble.
Despite the adversity, she continued with grace and professionalism, although she could not completely hide the discomfort.
This incident suggests that Queen Letizia may prefer to wear flat shoes for an extended period of time.
However, her ability to maintain her elegance and remain a fashion icon in more comfortable and less elevated footwear is undeniable.
One notable episode was during the gala dinner of her last state visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where, due to severe pain, she received the authorities seated.
While King Felipe and King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands did so standing.
This gesture did not go unnoticed and speaks to the Queen’s strength and resilience in the face of physical adversity.
