The Style of Queen Mary and Princess Mette Marit at the Welcoming Ceremony for the Kings of Denmark to Norway

It’s the Danish royals’ second official trip in less than a week, and once again, the spotlight shines on their outfits.

Despite coinciding with their 20th wedding anniversary, the attention remains on their clothing choices.

Elements like a peplum jacket and an original dress marked the style of the Nordic royals during Frederick and Mary’s State visit to Norway.

The Danish royals arrived in Oslo mid-morning aboard the royal yacht, a decision that drew attention due to previous controversy.

This time, they opted for the Dannebrog, celebrating their reunion with Haakon and Mette-Marit, who greeted them at the dock, followed by King Harald and Queen Sonja.

As usual, Mary and Mette-Marit’s looks stole the show, despite both being pulled from their closets.

Yet, both the princess and the queen added their own touch with accessories.

Mary of Denmark opted for the same look she wore during one of Queen Margrethe’s jubilee events: a printed Erdem skirt paired with a white Ralph Lauren peplum jacket.

While she wore a blue headpiece during Margrethe II’s jubilee, she opted for a gray-toned one with a net veil, matching her shoes, for this State visit.

She also swapped her clutch from two years ago for a Max Mara Whitney model in dusty pink, a versatile color suitable for various outfits.

Mette-Marit didn’t fall short in making headlines.

While her chosen dress, also reused, might not seem fitting for an official State visit on a sunny spring morning, the Norwegian princess dared to add her personal touch.

She wore a Fendi dress from the fall 2018 collection, previously worn during the Nobel Prize morning events in 2018.

Mette-Marit accessorized with an oversized white hat, matching the top of the dress.

Interestingly, it seems that Haakon of Norway’s wife has taken a liking to this stylistic trick, as she also wore a large hat during the recent State visit of the Moldovan president.

Experts suggest that such hats can soften facial features and wrinkles, adding a touch of sweetness to the face.
