Mary of Denmark wowed us with her most recent appearance.
The Danish royals are making their first official visit to Greenland, and on Thursday night, they took part in an elegant dinner.
After touring the west coast of the island on the royal yacht Dannebrog, they docked in Nuuk, the capital, where they were treated to a banquet in their honor at the Katuaq Cultural Center.
For the occasion, Mary wore a spectacular ball gown, stealing all eyes.
Queen Mary’s Gala Style in Greenland
In the evening, Frederick X and his wife arrived at the Katuaq Cultural Center where they were welcomed by the Prime Minister, Múte Bourup Egede, and his wife, as well as other local authorities.
Many citizens came to see the King and Queen of Denmark, who are also the monarchs of Greenland, since it is an autonomous Danish territory.
Queen Mary once again demonstrated her exquisite sense of style by wearing a ball gown by the American firm Teri Jon by Rickie Freeman.
This shirt-style dress, with a metallic brocade in gold, has an elegant open collar, hidden buttons on the front, French sleeves with hem, a belt made of the same fabric and an A-line skirt.
It is priced at just over $870 at the exchange rate and is available on the brand’s website.
In recent years, it is not common to see the queen premiering new clothes. Mary has chosen to reuse garments from her closet as a gesture towards sustainability in fashion. In fact, almost everything she has worn in Greenland has been repeat garments.
So it was surprising to see her at this gala dinner in a new dress, especially considering that on her state visits to Sweden and Norway in May, she decided to refashion old ball gowns to give them a new life.
To complement her outfit, Mary chose earrings from Ole Lynggaard jewelry. The earrings, shaped like flowers, are made of 18-karat white gold and are adorned with diamonds.
The special thing about these earrings is that they can be set with any stone, and on this occasion, Mary opted for a polished quartz.
Both Frederick and Mary wore several decorations. The Queen wore the Grand Commander’s Cross of Dannebrogorden, which her husband awarded her in May for her 50th birthday.
This was the first time we saw the Australian queen wearing the cross, which belonged to her late father-in-law, Prince Henrik.
Mary also wore the Grønlands Selvstyre medal, which recognizes her commitment to the social conditions of Greenlandic children and young people, a medal presented to her by the government in early June.
The King and Queen will continue their trip through Greenland until July 6. They still have several ports to visit before returning to Denmark.
