Once again, Queen Mathilde of Belgium has taken center stage at the Queen Elisabeth Competition, an event she has supported over the years with her presence.
Since its inception in 1937, this prestigious competition has been a launching pad for young violinists, pianists, singers, and cellists on the brink of international careers.
The competition owes its high reputation to a distinguished jury, strict rules, and extensive media coverage, which the Queen and her family help to amplify.
In 2024, the focus of the competition was on the violin. Over the past few weeks, Queen Mathilde attended several sessions to encourage the talented young musicians competing. Alongside King Philippe, she also hosted a lunch at the Royal Palace for the jury members.
The Style of Queen Mathilde and Her Daughter, Princess Eleonore
This past Saturday, June 1, marked the highlight of the competition, as the winner was announced after the final round at the Bozar concert hall in Brussels.
Both Queen Mathilde and her daughter, Princess Eléonore, attended the event, just as they did last year. The winner was Ukrainian violinist Dmytro Udovychenko.
For this special occasion, Queen Mathilde wore a mauve ensemble by Natan Couture, a favorite designer of hers and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, showcasing Belgian fashion.
Her outfit consisted of wide-leg trousers and a top with three-quarter sleeves, notable for its pearlescent fabric and unique draped adornment on one shoulder, covered by a semi-transparent overlay.
She accessorized with a Dior handbag in the same shade.
Princess Eléonore chose a Diane Von Furstenberg dress in aubergine with a lilac floral print, featuring a halter neckline and a long pleated skirt.
Mother and daughter charmed the finalists and the winner with their warm presence, once again capturing attention with their stylish outfits and evident bond, as they always do during public appearances.
Princess Eléonore recently celebrated her 16th birthday on April 16. The Royal House marked the occasion by releasing new photographs of the young princess, which garnered attention in Spain due to her choice of Spanish fashion.
Eléonore was photographed wearing a French blouse paired with Zara trousers.
This wasn’t the first time Eléonore showcased her fondness for the Spanish brand.
On her 15th birthday, she also chose an outfit from the Galician label for her official photos, affirming her taste for their fashion.
