Queen Máxima’s Eye-Catching Outfit: Headdress with a Big Flower, Lace Dress, and Pearl Necklace

Only she can pull off a look with so much going on and still come out looking great. Or not.

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands has once again opted for one of those outfits that you either love or hate.

The always extravagant queen chose a very flashy outfit for her visit to the Hogeland region, where a headpiece in the form of a tiara stood out the most, finished with a big flower, a brown rose that almost stole the show.

As mentioned, the King and Queen of the Netherlands traveled on Tuesday morning to the Hogeland area to visit the municipalities of Het Hogeland and Eemsdelta.

Willem-Alexander and Máxima usually make a couple or three regional visits a year to learn more about their country and to have closer contact with its people.

These are fun days, where we see the monarch and his wife participating in numerous activities.

In this particular visit, they played billiards and observed how shrimp fishing is carried out.

    Queen Máxima’s style

Going back to Máxima’s outfit, the queen pulled out from her wardrobe a lace dress by the international brand Elie Saab.

It’s a coral-colored design, with long sleeves, a closed neck, and midi length.

The Argentine wore it for the first time as a guest at a wedding in London in 2017; she wore it again a few months later during her State Visit to Portugal; we saw her in it at the G20 summit held in Argentina in 2018; and also at the Salvation Army’s Casa Mayor Bosshardt in Amsterdam in 2022.

It’s not risky, therefore, to say that it’s a dress that Máxima really likes, considering how many times she has worn it.

But, moreover, it seems that the design has something special, as another royal has fallen for it and has worn it on numerous occasions.

We’re talking about Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, who first wore it at the baptism of her nephew Alexander, son of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, and has repeated it many times since.

As if the design didn’t have enough details, Máxima added a headpiece finished with a big flower.

But that’s not all. Following her sometimes peculiar style, the Queen chose as jewelry a flashy three-strand pearl necklace, with a flower on the side, with diamonds in the central area, also coral-colored, matching some earrings.

She also wore numerous diamond and yellow gold bracelets, and a ring with an orange stone.

As for the rest of the accessories, she chose camel suede pumps by Gianvito Rossi, which she coordinated with leather gloves and a matching clutch.

The look may appeal more or less, but what’s clear is that it didn’t leave anyone indifferent and that she followed the advice of Queen Elizabeth II, who claimed that queens should wear bold colors and attention-grabbing outfits to be easily spotted at events.
