During Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s state visit to the Netherlands, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands once again stood out for her impeccable fashion sense.
During the second day of this important diplomatic appointment, Maxima accompanied the president and her husband, King Willem-Alexander, on a tour of the iconic Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague, known for housing masterpieces.
Queen Maxima in paisley print dress by Natan
For the occasion, the queen chose an outfit that fused elegance and originality. Her mini dress, with a straight cut and a seventies feel, was designed by her trusted creator, Edouard Vermeulen, of the Natan fashion house.
Made in an exclusive paisley print jacquard fabric, the dress stood out for its striking furry-effect trim in a sophisticated wine tone.
This design, which had already been part of her closet since 2017, got a new lease of life thanks to its revamped styling.
Maxima complemented her look with a matching silk cape, also designed by Natan, which added a touch of sophistication thanks to its rectangular lapel, French sleeves and tweaked shoulder pad details.
To top off the ensemble, the queen wore a wide-brimmed headdress signed by Belgian designer Fabienne Delvigne, a very striking accessory in keeping with her personality.
However, what really caught the eye was the inclusion of an affordable accessory: a Zara handbag valued at just $40.
This burgundy mother-of-pearl effect bag, with a gold metallic clasp that doubles as a handle, stood out for its uniqueness.
