When the Dutch royals conclude an international visit, they traditionally hold a press conference with the media that accompanied them.
This was no different on Thursday afternoon, marking the end of their work tour in the states of Georgia and New York. In the bustling city of skyscrapers, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima spoke with journalists.
Queen Máxima’s Style in a Color-Block Dress in New York
For this occasion, Máxima showcased a unique color-block dress designed by Carolina Herrera, affirming her status as the queen of vibrant hues.
During the four-day visit to the United States, the Argentine-born queen donned European fashion, featuring pieces from Belgian brand Natan and French label Dior, often repeating outfits from her wardrobe.
However, in her final hours in New York, she chose to nod to the local fashion industry with a dress from Carolina Herrera.
Máxima’s choice was a crepe dress with a column silhouette, sleeveless design, and a round neck with a sewn bodice. Its standout feature was the bold color combination.
The top was mustard, the skirt magenta, and a striking red band connected both parts.
The original design included a large bow at the waist, which the queen opted to omit for a more understated look.
She paired the dress with high-heeled peep-toe shoes with ribbons from Miu Miu and carried a matching red clutch and fan, a classic Spanish accessory she always has on hand.
Máxima also debuted striking spike-shaped earrings made of resin and metal by Yves Saint Laurent.
The outcome was a stunning and elegant look that left many impressed.
Although Queen Máxima is known for her daring prints and colorful attire, it is rare to see her in such a flattering color-block dress as this one by Carolina Herrera, which she styled impeccably.
The press conference marked the conclusion of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima’s work trip to the United States, which began on Monday in Atlanta. On Tuesday, their agenda took them to Savannah, where they visited the university and port. Wednesday saw them in Albany, New York, where they fulfilled several official duties before finally arriving in New York City on Thursday.
Back in the Netherlands, the royal couple will resume their domestic schedule before taking their summer vacation, which won’t start until mid-July.
