The busy schedule of Máxima of the Netherlands leaves no room for rest.
Two weeks ago she was in the United States, last week she fulfilled four engagements, one of them in military uniform, and this Monday she began by receiving illustrious foreign visitors.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima welcomed the Emir of Qatar and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, at an official ceremony at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague.
For the occasion, Máxima opted for an elegant blue flowing skirt and a dazzling sapphire necklace.
Queen Máxima’s Style at the visit of the Emir of Qatar
Normally, the King and Queen of the Netherlands receive their international guests at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. However, this visit, although official, did not require the same ceremonial protocol, so Noordeinde was chosen as the setting.
Máxima, always impeccable in her attire, did not disappoint with her choice.
The queen is known for her love of jewelry and, on this occasion, she wore a stunning sapphire and diamond necklace, adorned with moonstones.
This magnificent piece competed in splendor with the sheikha’s diamond earrings.
The high-waisted, midi-length skirt Máxima chose, designed by the Belgian firm Natan, had previously been seen at a Christmas concert last December.
On that occasion, she paired it with a blue blouse with a V-neckline and bow, creating an outfit that received much praise. Six months later, the queen repeated this look with great success.
In April this year, during the Koningsdag concert in Emmen, Máxima showed another way to wear the skirt, combining it with a vibrant yellow top with long sleeves and a round neckline.
Both combinations were very flattering, demonstrating the versatility of the garment.
For her meeting with the emir and the sheikha, Máxima complemented her outfit with nude Jan Taminiau shoes, a dark gray handbag and leather gloves.
Her earrings, matching the necklace, were also made of sapphires and diamonds, and she wore an elegant organza turban-like headdress.
On the other hand, Sheikha Jawaher opted for a white ensemble by Dior, with a long, light floaty skirt and a bouclé jacket with central buttons and side pockets, a look that was also very elegant.
