Queen Elizabeth II’s absence from her official engagements came to an end. Her Majesty reappeared on Monday, March 7, 2022 to hold a meeting with Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, the president took advantage of his trip to the United Kingdom to assess the situation in Ukraine and has met with the Queen.
Prince Charles‘ mother stepped away from all her duties on Feb. 20 when she tested positive for COVID-19. Although Buckingham Palace insisted that the monarch had mild symptoms, they still notified that the queen would remain under observation and away from all her duties.
Elizabeth II reappears: Queen meets Justin Trudeau
The queen, little by little, has been resuming her activities but remotely. Days ago she met virtually with the ambassador of Andorra, Carles Jordana Madero, and the ambassador of Chad, Kedella Younous Hamidi.
However, this Monday she finally appeared, this happened after it became known that the Queen has decided that she would not return to Buckingham Palace as her official residence.
It should be noted that since she settled in Windsor, in 2020, to spend the pandemic with her husband, Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, apparently the monarch has further tightened her bond with this palace.
Philip died at Windsor Castle and is buried there, as are the Queen’s parents. In addition, the quiet life away from London is a good influence on her health.
